Keys Cut to Key Number
We can cut keys to the manufacturer’s key number (often referred to as the ‘key code’). For this particular blade the key number will usually be on a black plastic key tag and will start with two numbers followed by an additional five numbers, e.g. 12 01234 / 62 01234.
NOTE: The key number will not be on the key itself. Keys cut to key number will be cut to the original locks of the vehicle. If the vehicle has previously had the locks changed then obviously this key will not work. Keys cut to key number are non-refundable.
Keys Cut to Photo
If the option for ‘Cut to Photo’ is shown in the key cutting drop down box we can cut the key to a clear picture of the blade. The blade should ideally be on a white background with the end of the blade facing towards the right. The picture should not be blurred and the cuts of the key should be easily identifiable. You can see an example picture below:
The MLB (Modularer Längsbaukasten in German) or MLP (Modular Longitudinal Platform) component matrix is used in the B8 (A4, A5, Q5), C7 (A6, A7, Q7) and D4 (A8) families of Audi vehicles.
B8 is the fourth generation released the first official pictures of the B8 series A4 in August 2007 and continued in production for the 2016 model year, while Europe began deliveries on the 2016 B9 model.
Under Audi’s internal platform numbering convention, the A5 is a member of the B-platform series of vehicles, sharing its platform designation with the A4 saloon and Avant. The first generation A5 (Type 8T) is therefore a member of the B8 family, whilst the second generation model (Type 8W6) is based on the B9. Both are derived from the Volkswagen MLB (Modular Longitudinal Matrix) architecture.
From November 2008, the latest generation of the ‘Audi S4 quattro'(Typ 8K) entered factory production. It is based on the current Audi B8 A4,built on the Volkswagen Group MLB/MLP platform.
The Audi RS 4 Avant quattro was unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and was based on the B8 A4 Avant. The RS 4 Avant uses the Volkswagen MLB platform, and shares the same powertrain as the RS 5 Coupé.
The Audi S5 is the high-performance variant of Audi’s A5. It is also the coupé, cabriolet, and five-door fastback versions of the fourth-generation (B8) Audi S4 saloon and estate models.
The Audi Q5 is a series of compact luxury crossover SUVs produced by the German luxury car manufacturer Audi from 2008. The original first-generation (Typ 8R) model was the third member of the B8 family to be released after the Audi A5 and fourth-generation A4, all being based on the Audi MLB platform. The second generation Q5 (Typ 80A) debuted in 2016 and shares the Audi MLBevo platform with the corresponding B9 versions of the A4 and A5.
